You Can Break Your Smokeless Habit With Hypnosis
There are 3 separate elements contained in the addiction to dip. Two of the parts are emotional/mental, and only one part is physical.
Part A: YOU DIP FOR RELAXATION AND PLEASURE.
When you were a baby and you became upset, your mother would put a nipple into your mouth to calm you down. You would get distracted, become mellower, and often go to sleep. That scenario was repeated thousands of times so that your unconscious mind was programmed: When something goes into your mouth, you get relaxation and pleasure from it.
Now that you are a grownup, if you feel agitated, you crave something in your mouth for relaxation and pleasure - smokeless tobacco!
Part B: CHEWING IS A CONDITIONED RESPONSE.
Remember Pavlov? Every time that he fed his dogs he would ring a bell. After several repetitions, he could just ring the bell, and that would make the dogs salivate.
When you connect dipping with any other behavior, the other behavior will trigger cravings for smokeless tobacco and a compulsion to chew smokeless tobacco. This is called a conditioned response.
For example: If you chew smokeless tobacco when you see a cup of coffee, you will automatically get an urge to chew smokeless tobacco each time you have a cup of coffee.
Here is exactly how this conditioned response gets programmed into your subconscious: If a person dips and simultaneously drinks a cup of coffee, the mind takes a snapshot of the dip in the hand, and ties it to the cup of coffee. Thereafter, every time the person has a cup of coffee, her mind fills in the missing part of the picture. It flashes an image of the dip, and the dipper gets a craving for smokeless tobacco.
You may be unaware of the mental picture of the smokeless tobacco, because it may only be at the subconscious level of mind. Just as you are unaware of what you are seeing through your peripheral vision until something or someone draws your attention to it. But the image is there, creating a craving for smokeless tobacco.
Part C: THERE IS A PHYSICAL ADDICTION TO NICOTINE, BUT . . .
After having worked with several thousand people who are addicted to tobacco I give you my guarantee that the physical addiction to smokeless is the weakest part of the smokeless habit. In fact, I believe that it is only ten percent of the addiction to smokeless. 90% of the smokeless are the mental and emotional parts! (Parts A and B).
HERE IS WHAT THIS MEANS TO A PERSON WHO DIPS AND WHO WANTS TO QUIT.
What this means is that after you have eliminated the anxiety that pushes you to chew smokeless for relaxation and pleasure (Part A) . . . and if you can extinguish the conditioned response of feeling a compulsion for smokeless when having a cup of coffee, driving, or finishing a meal, etc. (Part B) . . . then you can break the addiction to tobacco without the requirement of willpower, and without experiencing withdrawal symptoms or gaining weight.
Hypnosis will make it easy to break the addiction to smokeless because it takes care of Parts A & B! Here is how:
Part A is where people chew smokeless tobacco for relaxation and pleasure. It's your thoughts that create feelings of anxiety. Moreover, people always play mental movies in their mind's eye. If the movie is negative, it causes a feeling of stress.
We can use different NLP techniques to program the subconscious mind to instantly take those anxiety producing mental pictures and movies, and quickly exchange them for relaxation producing mental pictures and movies. This creates relaxation and pleasure, and obliterates the anxiety that causes the oral urges and compulsions for chewing.
Because of the elimination of anxiety, the person who is quitting doesn't feel the compulsion or need to substitute food in place of the smokeless tobacco. So quitting without weight gain is possible.
Part B is where people dip because dipping becomes a conditioned response to many different activities and locations. Remember in the earlier example how smoking became unconsciously associated with other activities and environments so that each time a person who chews gets into that activity or environment, the mind flashes an image of smokeless, and the image of the smokeless triggers an urge to chew tobacco?
There are stop smokeless hypnosis, and quit smokeless NLP techniques that can effortlessly extinguish those conditioned responses so that a person's mind will lose the cravings for chewing tobacco, and the compulsion to chew smokeless. As a matter of fact, you can even get a compulsion to reject dipping.
TO SUMMARIZE
In summary, by utilizing certain hypnotic and NLP techniques, it becomes very easy to stop dipping without weight gain or having to suffer from withdrawal. And many of these hypnotic methods do not even require post-hypnotic suggestions. They depend on training the mind to use the same mental processes that the subconscious mind is using to create the smokeless tobacco habit, to eliminate the mental addiction.
